A few hundred vines of Cabernet Franc are always the last to be picked at KrisTodd Vineyard, in order to make sure each cluster is completely ripe and free of “green” pyrazine flavors. It’s fermented and barreled down on its own, then blended with select barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon, and the resulting wine’s its black-fruited power and richness easily stands up to its 100% new French oak élevage.
